Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about hurricane-rated impact windows and doors: approvals, glass, sizing, pricing, shipping, pickup, payment and returns. If your question is not here, send it to our team.

An impact window or door is a hurricane-rated opening product built with laminated glass and a reinforced aluminum frame, tested to resist wind-borne debris and cyclic wind pressure. In Florida these products are documented through a Miami-Dade NOA or a Florida Product Approval. Confirm the rating, size and design pressure for the exact product before ordering.

Both are approval documents showing that a product was tested and evaluated for use under the Florida Building Code. The Miami-Dade Notice of Acceptance (NOA) is required in the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone (Miami-Dade and Broward); the Florida Product Approval is used across the rest of the state. Ask PORTELA 11 to confirm which document applies to the series and size you plan to buy.

Clear glass lets in the most light and solar heat. Gray is a tinted glass that reduces glare and visible light. Low-E is a coating that reflects heat while keeping the glass clear, which lowers the solar heat gain coefficient. Availability depends on the product and configuration; check the product page or ask before ordering.

It is a translucent white layer laminated inside the impact glass. Light passes through, but the view is blocked from both sides, which makes it a common choice for bathrooms, side entries and street-facing openings. It is offered on selected configurations only; confirm the option for the exact size and series.

Measure the width and height of each opening at three points and record the smallest in inches with fractions (for example 36 3/4). Note whether you measured the existing frame or the masonry opening, and whether you need a replacement or new-construction product. Send the measurements and photos by WhatsApp so the available stock or special-order sizes can be reviewed.

Price depends on size, series, glass type, frame color, configuration, privacy option and hardware. Smaller stock windows start at a few hundred dollars, while large multi-panel doors reach into the low thousands. Catalog prices are product-only and do not include installation, permits or delivery.

Yes. Pickup at the Miami warehouse is free, local delivery in Miami-Dade and Broward is quoted per order, and freight to the rest of Florida is quoted by product and destination. Shipping is not charged in checkout; request the quote by WhatsApp or email. Timing depends on availability and the carrier, so no fixed delivery date is promised until the order is reviewed.

No. PORTELA 11 LLC sells products. Installation, measurement, permitting and inspections are not included unless agreed separately in writing. Installation should be performed by a qualified, licensed professional following the manufacturer's instructions and local code.

The manufacturer's warranty applies to each product. PORTELA 11 LLC passes that warranty through and does not add a separate warranty unless stated in writing. Keep your invoice and the product labels; they are needed for any claim.

Send the product type, quantity, exact width and height, configuration, frame color, glass, privacy option and project ZIP code by WhatsApp to (786) 590-0488 or by email to sales@portela11.com. Sizes not in stock can be reviewed as special orders; availability and pricing are confirmed before you commit.

Three options: card online through Stripe's secure checkout (credit, debit, Apple Pay or Google Pay), pay at pickup at the Miami warehouse, or Zelle to sales@portela11.com. Orders paid at pickup or by Zelle are reserved and confirmed once payment is received.

Report damage or an incorrect item within 48 hours of pickup or delivery with clear photos of the product, packaging and damage, and do not install or alter it. Returns of unused stocked items in original packaging may be accepted subject to review; custom sizes and special orders are not returnable. See the Returns policy for details.

Bring your order number and ID, a vehicle that can carry the items flat and secured — a pickup truck, van or trailer depending on the size — and at least one helper. Windows and doors are heavy, and glass should travel on edge with padding. Inspect each item before leaving; the warehouse is not responsible for damage caused by improper transport.

Choose Zelle at checkout, then send the order total from your bank to sales@portela11.com with your order number in the memo. The order stays reserved while the transfer is pending and is confirmed once the payment is received. If you prefer, the same order can be paid by card later from My Orders.

Contractors and dealers with a valid Florida resale or exemption certificate should contact PORTELA 11 before placing the order. The online checkout applies Florida sales tax by default, so send the certificate first by email and the team will explain how to place the order correctly.

Yes, as a special order. Send the exact specifications and the team confirms whether the manufacturer offers that size and configuration, the price and the expected availability before anything is ordered. Special orders are built to your measurements, so they may not be cancellable once in production and are not returnable.
