What Impact Windows and Doors Cost in Florida
Prices for impact windows and doors move with a handful of specifications. Knowing them lets you compare product-only catalog prices with installed quotes without mixing apples and oranges.

What drives the price
Two units that look the same in a photo can be priced very differently. These are the specifications that move the number.
- Size. Glass area is the biggest factor. Larger lites need more glass and, past certain sizes, a heavier make-up or thicker interlayer to keep the design pressure.
- Series. A heavy commercial frame with deeper profiles and higher design pressure costs more than a standard residential series of the same size.
- Glass. Clear is the baseline; gray tint adds a little; Low-E adds more; insulated laminated units add the most.
- Privacy white interlayer. A factory option priced per unit, available only on selected configurations.
- Frame color. White is typically the base finish; bronze is common at a modest premium; custom colors are special order.
- Configuration. Two operable panels (XX) cost more than one (XO); casements cost more than rolling or single hung; a double French door with sidelites costs more than a single leaf.
- Hardware. Keyed cylinders, multipoint locks, upgraded handles and special finishes add to doors in particular.
- Approvals. HVHZ-rated products carry heavier anchoring, glass and testing than non-HVHZ units of similar appearance.
- Accessories. Mullions, installation clips, sealants and colonial grids are priced separately.
Product-only versus installed pricing
PORTELA 11 LLC sells products. The price on a product page covers the window or door as described, with its standard hardware and screen where applicable. It does not include measurement, removal of old units, installation labor, bucks and fasteners, sealants, stucco or drywall repair, permits, engineering, inspections or disposal.
An installed quote from a contractor bundles all of that, and the product is often a minority of the total. Comparing a catalog price with an installed quote only makes sense once the quote is broken down — ask the contractor for the product line separately, or at least for the brand, series, size, glass and configuration being supplied.
How to compare quotes
Two quotes that differ by a wide margin are rarely for the same product. The gap is usually glass, series or design pressure. Line up these items before deciding.
- Same size, written as width x height in inches with fractions.
- Same series and brand, or an explicit statement of the design pressure each product meets.
- Same glass: clear, gray or Low-E, and privacy if required.
- Same frame color and same configuration (XO versus XX, single versus double door, sidelites).
- Same approval basis: Miami-Dade NOA or Florida Product Approval for your location.
- What is included: screens, hardware, delivery, mullions, clips.
- Lead time stated for the specific items, since stock and special-order items differ.
- Payment terms and the written warranty paperwork that comes with the product.
Pickup, local delivery and freight
Shipping is not charged in checkout. Pickup at the Miami warehouse at 1760 NW 94th Ave, Miami, FL is free; bring a suitable vehicle and a helper. Local delivery in Miami-Dade and Broward and freight to the rest of Florida are quoted per order by WhatsApp or email, based on the size, weight and quantity of the items, the destination and whether a liftgate is needed. Ask for the quote before you compare totals with a supplier that bundles delivery into the price.
Catalog ranges, loosely
Exact prices are on each product page and change with inventory, so this guide gives orientation rather than numbers. Smaller stock windows — a single hung or horizontal rolling unit in a common size with clear or gray glass — start in the few-hundred-dollar range. Casements, large picture windows and Low-E or privacy options sit higher. Single French doors and two-panel sliding glass doors run into four figures, and large multi-panel sliding doors, double French doors with sidelites and window wall units reach into the low thousands and beyond depending on size and glass.
Florida sales tax applies at checkout. Contractors and dealers with a resale certificate should contact the store before ordering. Promotions, when active, are shown on the site and apply at checkout with the code.
